# SD Card

{% hint style="info" %}
The following instructions utilize the SD510 for demonstration purposes. These procedures are applicable to other development boards.
{% endhint %}

Insert the SD Card into the SBC-MB510 SD Card slot.

## SD Card Device Example

Once you insert an SD Card, the output should resemble something like this:

```
[ 2611.364945] mmc1: host does not support reading read-only switch, assuming write-enable
[ 2611.376050] mtk-msdc 11240000.mmc: phase: [map:00000000ffffffff] [maxlen:32] [final:10]
[ 2611.376109] mmc1: new ultra high speed SDR50 SDHC card at address aaaa
[ 2611.378968] mmcblk1: mmc1:aaaa SS16G 14.8 GiB
```

**Steps to Mount a SD Card**

* Check the device using `lsblk`.

```
root@sd510:~# lsblk
NAME         MAJ:MIN RM  SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINTS
...
|-mmcblk0p9  179:9    0   32M  0 part
`-mmcblk0p10 179:10   0   58G  0 part /
mmcblk0boot0 179:32   0    4M  1 disk
mmcblk0boot1 179:64   0    4M  1 disk
mmcblk1      179:96   0 14.8G  0 disk
```

* **Create a Directory**

  To create a directory for the mount point, open a terminal and type the following command

  ```
  mkdir /media/sd
  ```
* **Mount the USB Drive**

  Use the following command to mount your SD Card to the newly created directory:

  ```
  mount /dev/mmcblk1 /media/sd
  ```

  > **Note**: Replace `/dev/mmcblk1` with the correct identifier for your SD Card. Use `lsblk` to list drives and find the correct identifier
* List directory content /media/sd:

```
root@sd510:~# ls -al /media/sd
total 156
drwxr-xr-x 10 root root  8192 Jan  1  1970  .
drwxr-xr-x  3 root root  4096 Feb 11 10:44  ..
...
```
